Privacy Policy
The short version. There are no accounts, no ads, no cookies and no third-party tracking. We store your puzzle progress against a random ID your device made up, so your streak survives a reinstall. That is the whole thing.
This policy covers the Cozy Games Corner website at cosygamescorner.co.uk and the Cozy Games Corner apps for Android and iOS (together, “the games”).
Who we are
Cozy Games Corner is operated by Protostream UK. We are the data controller for the information described below. You can reach us at support@cosygamescorner.co.uk.
What we collect
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, date of birth or location, and there is no sign-up step. The only data the games create is your progress:
- A device ID. The first time you open the games, your device generates a random identifier (a UUID). It is not derived from your hardware, your advertising ID, or anything else about you — it is just a random number, and a fresh one is created if you clear the app's data.
- Puzzle progress. Your current streak, your best streak, the date you last completed a daily puzzle, and the list of puzzle IDs you have solved.
- A timestamp of when that progress last changed, so we can merge sensibly if you play on more than one device.
That is the complete list. We do not collect how long you took, what moves you made, what device you are using, or anything about the other apps on it.
Where it lives
Progress is written to your device's local storage first — that is the copy the games actually read, which is why they work with no connection at all. If your device is online, the games also send that same snapshot to our server, which stores it against your device ID and sends back the merged result.
If you never connect, nothing ever leaves your device and the games still work exactly the same.
Server logs
Like any web server, ours records basic technical entries — IP address, timestamp, the page or endpoint requested — so we can keep the service running and spot abuse. These logs are kept briefly for diagnostics and are not combined with your puzzle progress or used to build a profile of you.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service. There are no advertising SDKs, no tracking pixels, no social media buttons, and no third-party fonts or scripts loaded from other people's servers — everything the games need is bundled in.
Who we share it with
Nobody. We do not sell, rent or trade your data, and we do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or analytics companies. The only exception is if we are legally required to hand something over by a court or regulator.
If you installed the games from the App Store or Google Play, Apple and Google handle that download under their own privacy policies. We do not receive personal data from them.
How long we keep it
Progress is kept for as long as it is being used, so your streak is still there when you come back. Records that have not been synced for two years are deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or export the data we hold about you, and to object to how it is processed. Our lawful basis for storing progress is legitimate interest — making the games work across your devices and survive a reinstall.
Because we hold no identifying information, your device ID is the only way we can find your record. The first eight characters are shown on the You page in the games.
Deleting your data
- On your device: uninstalling the app, or clearing the site data in your browser, removes the local copy immediately.
- On our server: email support@cosygamescorner.co.uk with your device ID and we will delete the record within 30 days.
If you think we have got something wrong, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
The games are suitable for all ages and are not directed at children in particular. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included — there is no mechanism in the games to give us any.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced in the games themselves.
